This has to be the one of the most beautiful videos I have ever seen. Words cannot simply explain how beautiful and amazing this video is. I remember stumbling upon this video while I was browsing around the internet and I was just in awe the whole time while watching this because it is just simply stunning.
The video for me is very reminiscent of Michel Gondry's 'Science of Sleep' because it reminds me of his dreamy and surreal scenes injected into realistic elements. The creative people responsible for this are all from Israel. Director Oren Lavie is also a songwriter and an award winning playwright. According to his MySpace, he likes to 'create dreamy visuals from realistic elements' and this is his first attempt into Moving Pictures. Yuval and Merav Nathan are an Israeli couple who are both skilled in the area of photography, design, 3d animation, stop motion, and 2d compositing. They have created numerous short films, commercials, and four animated music videos.
Some facts about the video from Oren Lavie's MySpace:
- It took them 2 days to shoot this video
- Before shooting, it took them 4 weeks to create an animated computer generated storyboard
- Some of the bedsheets used in are from Oren Lavie and are now considered as collectors item
I also suggest that whenever you are in a huge amount of stress and work just keeps on coming, take the time out to watch this video. Believe me it is a good way to relax and be inspired even just for 3:36 minutes.
