Music sounds better with you

One of my friends told me back then that music makes up 80% of her life. I think most if not all would agree with me that they cannot imagine life without music. Each has its own reasons and explanations as to why they cannot live without it. Some would say that it is a great source of inspiration. For others they consider it as a form of escape from life's hurdles and a way to relax. While the rest (including me) cannot live without it simply because they just cannot live without it.

Just like the fashion industry, the music industry is also constantly changing and evolving. This is evident particularly when it come to music videos. Over the past decades you would see people persistently coming up with new ideas, pushing the boundaries, and thinking outside of the box.

For this week, I will be featuring some of my favorite music videos (which would be included if I ever made an "Awesome Music Videos Ever Made" list) Some are well-known and some you may have never stumbled upon. So to kick start on things, let's go back to the 80's!

1. A-Ha: Take on Me (1985)
Directed by Steve Barron

I noticed that a lot of awesome music videos (and songs) are created during the 80's and A-ha's 'Take On Me 'is simply one of them. I was born in the late 80's (1989 to be particular) so I didn't have the pleasure of experiencing all of that '80's New Wave'. However I'm sure that everyone knows this song and have seen this video. This is one of those music videos that you will see in every 'Greatest Music Videos' list ( it placed no.8 on VH1's 100 Greatest Music Video and no. 14 on MTV's) and there's no doubting on why it should. Still one of the most innovative videos I've seen, its rotroscopic style (comic book theme) continues to influence today's music videos such as Incubus' "Drive" and Kanye West's "Heartless". I actually like how the fantasy elements in this video does not appear... should I say scary compared to some that I've seen. I say that this is one of those videos that will always remain memorable and remarkable.
