God save the Queen

Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at no.163 in their 500 Greastest Songs of all time. Many considered it as Queen's 'cream of the crop' and ranked no.15 in VH1: 100 Greatest Music Videos. Well it's no other than Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen.

3. Queen: Bohemian Rhapsody(1975)
Directed by Bruce Gowers

This promotional video is considered to be what helped establish visual language of modern video for record companies started producing promotional videos for music artists' single releases after this one. The video opens where we see the silhouette of the four band members singing the a Capella part. The spotlight is suddenly on their faces resembling the cover shot for their second album, Queen II. We then see clips of the band performing and various clips and effects playing with the shots of their faces just like the one in the opening scene during the opera part. The effects during the opera part is pretty impressive especially the ones in 3:27 and 3:56 and the honeycomb effect as well. I also get this godlike-vibe in the opera part especially with the whole Galileo! and Magnifico!

Favorite part: The whole opera part is just....Magnifico!

Probably not only one of the most awesome videos ever but also one of the most awesome songs ever made.
